Any user knows the utility which can save
position of Desktop Icons and place it back
to the same position.

*OOPS!!!*

My sincere apologies for a (would you believe) quite unintentional "bum
steer". Right horse, wrong stable.

There is a file of the same name that does the job you want - it was a
PC-mag utility written by Rubenking when I got it a couple of years ago
.... but seeing as PC-mag stuff isn't freeware any more it's really
off-topic here. I suggest the OP contacts me per E-Mail.

Although I knew several satisfactory programs for Win98, Iconoid is the
only one that has worked well for me with WinXP. This might be because
I resized some icons. Iconoid is avalable at
http://www.sillysot.com/
