I'm having a problem with XP Home with the following
obvious characteristics:
1) I can't click on a single desktop icon. Clicking on
one icon seems to highlight all the icons above the
desired icon as well, and so every program on my desktop
opens if I click on an icon at the bottom of the screen.
2) Attempting to drag a single desktop icon makes a copy
of every desktop icon and they all move together until I
release the mouse button at which point I double the
number of icons on my desktop!
3) I have lost the "Log Off" option when I attempt to shut
down my machine. This has been replaced with "Hibernate"
which was never there before.
4) The "Restart" option does not work at all. I can only
power off.
Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks,
PJ
