Desktop icons & start menu

HELP. Can anyone enlighten me as to why every time I
turn on my computer the desktop icons and start menu keep
changing size from small to large.

I have tried customising my desktop but it seems to have
a will of its own and it is most aggravating. I just
wish it would make up its mind and stick with one size or
the other.

I am somewhat new to this computing lark but don't think
I am completely dense but I just can't seem to work this
one out on my own.

Please help!!!

Take a peek in Control Panel> Accessibility Options. Uncheck the boxes for
anything you do not use. Sometimes the display settings get toggled in here
unexpectedly.
