You can change the icon by right-clicking the shortcut, and choosinghow can i get rid of it?
Properties. On the shortcut tab, choose the [Change Icon...] button. Now,
this is where it can get interesting. If you are seeing a disk drive, a
likely source for that icon is %SystemRoot%\system32 \SHELL32.dll. You can
choose from other icons in that resource.
Or, depending on what the shortcut is for, the target itself probably offers
other icons. If so, from the Change Icon dialog, you can choose the
[Browse...] button, navigate to the executable's folder, and choose
resources there that include icons.
