Desktop icons not unique to each account??

I have two user accounts. I just deleted some desktop icons in one
account - then found they had disappeared in the other account also.
What is going on here? I thought the desktops would be unique to each
account.

It may be that the program shortcut was installed for "All Users".
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
You may be deleting a shortcut that is/was stored there.

At the moment the "All Users" desktop seems to be empty. But I'll keep
an eye on it. Thanks for the hint.
