desktop Icons.lnk

Please help me!!!! my desktop icons has been changed to the name of the
program plus lnk, like this "iTunes.lnk" when I click on it, open notepad
not the exe.file of the progran, in other words any icon work. How can I go
back to restore the icons., the Computer icon and Recycle Bin icon, do not
show .lnk and work ok.

John, Thanks. I did system restore and everything is ok. Do you have some
idea why this change.
