Windows XP Desktop Icons have changed, Why!

OK, just spring cleaned my PC of lots of dust, was very careful doing it.
Replaced all the cables etc, Turned it back on and some of the desktop icons have changed, why & how??
Got most like Belarc, Ad-Aware back to normal but still need to do My Computer, IE7 & My Documents.
Why did they change in the first place?:confused:

Changed to what?

This might have been triggered by the system restart - if your PC was previously always on?
It's possible for something to have been updated which required a restart to complete.
File association isn't 'too' much to worry about... :)

When in classic start menu the icons are not how the normally are they are in starange colours.
When you click on start you get an image of the icons in the background of the menu
Graphics are fine as i can play DVD's fine & have updated the drivers for the PCI-E card.
If the icons have been updated how to get them back?
I did a system restore to see if this would get the back, but still the same.
Could it be caused by my spring clean??
 
It's more likely the system has either..
Refreshed/actioned some changes since installing/updating the OS or Applications.
OR
The system has recovered from possible corruption, leaving your File association a little awry!
Probably evidence of the latter in your System/Application Event Logs
