Desktop Icons Got Rearranged

Turned on computer this morning and my desktop icons were in a different order.
Luckily I do a screen shot of the desktop as a backup, but it still will take
some minutes to put them back in the right order. Anyone know how this could
have happened? Also, I noticed that when I right-clicked on the desktop and
tried the options of arranging by Name, etc., none of those became checked or
did anything.
