Rick: Not able to take control of files as suggested:
When right clicking on files I only get two tabs, General
and Summary so can't click Security and when I click
Advanced tab i get Attributes options only.
Here is some clarification on the icons: The AOL 6.0 Icon
target properties points to C:\Program Files\America
Online 6.0\AOL.exe but target cannot be found. The Market
Monitor Icon properties target points to c:\Program
Files\Option Investor.com\mm.exe but target cannot be
found. The Desktop.ini Icon properties General tab shows
location: c:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Desktop\Desktop.ini and this file can be activiated
by double clicking on the icon and comes up in notepad as
follows (but cannot be deleted):
"[LocalizedFileNames]
Windows Media layer. lnk=@c:\WINDOWS\inf\unregmp2.exe,-4"
All three of these icon files can be found in my Explorer:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop but I am
unable to delete them from the Desktop or from Explorer.
Do you think a five pound hammer would take them out?

Hi,

For Pro, go to folder options in the control panel, on the view tab disable
simple file sharing.

For Home, the same instructions, but you must reboot and log on in Safe mode
as administrator first.
