This is a picky question but here go anyways.

Can I make the desktop Icons names (short cuts, executables, folders...etc.)
transparent with white or black text?

Any help would be appreciated!

Couldn't tell you how to change the text color, but you can get the
transparent block via Control Panel \ system \ advanced\ performance \
check "use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop".

If you want to change the color of the text itself, you can use WallMaster.
It is a desktop background image changing program that also allows for
blockless text in older OS's like 95/98/2000. In its options, you can set
the background color to equal the desktop font color. And since you do not
see the boxes or the background color, as the image is over it anyhow, it
works great.

I am sure there is a variable somewhere in XP's configs to edit this but I
have no clue where to start looking.
