Desktop has turned into a type of 'Safe' Mode

This problem is one in same as in my daughter, Sarah's,
earlier email, and might help to explain what the screen
looks like, or what has happened to it.

We would appreciate your help as we are using our PC for
ongoing courses.

Who is Sarah?.. how long ago did she post her problem?.. do you really
expect us to go looking for it?..

I didn't see Sarah's original message. Have only general suggestions:

-When the display settings are not what you expect, check them. Right click
the desktop and select Display. Go to the Settings page and adjust to your
usual settings.

-If settings are missing or the display results on the monitor are still
not what they used to be, reinstall the display driver.
