Desktop folder on different location

One of my users is experiencing something odd... her Desktop folder is
located on a different location. By default it goes like :

"c:\documents and settings\user\desktop" ;

my user's is

"c:\documents and settings\user\cookies\desktop"

Any idea how this happened? how can it be corrected? The default
desktop folder is where it's supposed to be, but is empty.

Hello,

My guess is that the user accidentally dragged the Desktop into the cookies
folder, because in the explorer list Cookies is right above the Desktop
folder. So the user probably tried to maximize the desktop folder but
accidentally dragged it into the other folder.

To fix this just try Right click on start button > Explore (you can also
open up any other explorer window as well) > Click on Cookies on the list to
the left (if you can't see the folders list just click on the 'Folders'
button) > Drag and drop the files on the folder with the name of the user.
This shouldn't matter much as long as the desktop is functioning properly.

Thanks for the input Rishi;

I tried this but, what I find is that windows recognizes the
'\cookies\desktop' folder as the original desktop. If I move the data
from here to '\desktop' everything on the desktop goes away. My true
inquiry I guess is, how do I tell Windows that '\cookies\desktop' is
not the folder it should be looking at, and change it to the proper
'\desktop' one
