Desktop file appears in History panel

A file called desktop (appears)
I see in C:\Documents and Settings\Myusename\

many folders but,
2 folders

Configuraci¾n local
Configuración local

The second one is not visible unless I turn on to see all files
and has some data.

But the first one is empty.

The problem is my history doens't work, unless I erase it with
a program called "Track Eraser", after that the history panel
works. But when you restart it's gone and we start the process again:

A file called desktop (appears) and so on...

The problem started after deleting some index.dat files.
I'm afraid some file is missing.
Can you tell me about those 2 folders and how to fix it permanently please?

(a similar thread started but had no solution still)

Thanks so much!

If you mean desktop.ini, that is a normal file built by Windows. It can be
opened in Notepad to see its contents.

As someone has already mentioned in the other thread
a certain virus scanner has this effect.

If you don't have that particular product it will probably be something
similar which is interfering.

Try some clean-boot troubleshooting to isolate the cause.
