Desktop Drama!

hi there! My son has changed some settings on my computer and I can't change
them back! I seemed to have tried everything that I know how. It is like my
desktop has been shrunk, my icons are very large and my background has become
narrower and doesn't take up the full screen. I have changed my dpi
settings, font size etc but this hasn't helped. Please could someone help me!
Thanks

In Display properties > Settings tab.
What's the screen resolution set at?
Move the slider one notch to the right if presently set at 800x600.

In Display properties > Settings tab > Advanced button > General tab.
DPI = Normal size (96 DPI)

In Display properties > Appearance tab > Effects button.
Uncheck "Use large icons" if checked, Ok > Apply > Ok out.

1) bash your son
2) Try the controls on your monitor, usually situated at the front,
lower/under the screen, maybe under a flap, to increase the screen size.
3) Check display properties - should be in the order of 1024*768, and the
Adapter tab should show your video card detail

The first thing I would do would be to select a System Restore point to take
you back to an "as you were" position before the Varmint struck! The next
thing once you are up and running again would be to administer some severe
verbal chastisement with the promise, provided that he is old enough to
understand, that following a second episode being disinherited would be the
least of his problems !

To get to "display properties" right click on a balnk area of the desktop
and go to properties...then follow the guide below. Why not change your
password so your son can't access your desktop and then let him log in under
his own username and password.
