Hello
Sorry if this is the wrong group for this problem but I
wasn't sure which category to post in!
I'm using XP home SP1, Athlon xp2400+ with 256 MB Ram. My
graphics card is nvidia Geforce4 MX440SE with AGP 8X
(64mb). Now for the problem...! I went into DISPLAY
PROPERTIES/SETTINGS/ADVANCE which brings up the PLUG&PLAY
MONITER AND NVIDIA GEFORCE MX440SE box. Then I clicked on
the tab NVIDIA GEFORCE and a little box appeared
saying "nvcpl catastrophic failure" so I clicked ok and a
big chunk of the display turned white. Clicking on any
other tab turns the display back to normal but when
returning to my desktop it is now corrupted(in the same
section of the screen that went white). I can't really
describe how it looks, everythings still there but its
all mangled! I've tried changing the desktop picture but
its still happening. It is only the desktop that seems to
be affected by this and using system restore hasn't
helped. (In device manager it says its working properly)
There are 3 accounts created. mine being the
administrator. On the other 2 this isnt happening.
I really hope this made sense and I'm sorry its a bit
long winded. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Tracy
