I've been looking unsuccessfully for resources on building apps that show up
on the desktop's context menu. Any ideas?

initally i'm looking to add the start menu (but later on other
resources and apps as well) to the desktop's context menu.

When does it make sense?

the second. instead of clicking start, I'd like to be able to right click
on the desktop. I'd also like to be able to add other items/content/apps to
the desktop's context menu. Armin's link was a good start for adding an app

when you want some control over the shell / when you're looking for a vb.net

I guess this is (at least) not supported, probably because you usually don't
need a second start menu as the first one is always there. So, I'm afraid, I
can't help you more.
