Hi

Don't know if this is a problem caused by Windowsxp or associated with
it but it's happened to my father's machine and I can't get to see it
as yet so thought I'd ask for any hints first...

apparently the kids were playing with the computer and next time he
sees it the whole desktop is upside down, icons and all, and the mouse
is working in reverse (up is down, right is left etc. etc.)

i've never seen or heard of this before (not that I'm any kind of
computer expert!) and haven't seen it for myself yet and so can't
think what they have done to it. As I said I don't necessarily think
that it'scaused by XP it's just that he says they've got "XP home
edition" on the machine and someone may be able to suggest a fix for
it.

Sorry if I've posted this on this NG incorrectly - any pointers
gratefully received.

And apparently some video cards have a setting in their advanced properties
to do this - I just can't work out why - maybe it was short-bus day for
driver developers when that feature was dreamed up.

It's probably something simple if he kids could easily access it.

If you have nVidea nView Desktop Manager installed and enabled (which shows
up in Control Panel), it has is a rotate option.

If it IS enabled, you can easily access it just by rt-clicking on the
desktop and there will be an NKeystone option there.
Rotate it back to where it should be, then go to Control Panel and disable
nView.

many thanks for the replies. i've passed on the advice to my father
and when I next visit I will see if he's managed to put it right. My
guess is he'll wait until I go up before he risks looking at it (he's
liable to do more harm than good himself!!!)

Cheers
Andy
