Desktop CD/DVD Shortcut

[Monsoon]

The shortcut to the optical disc drive, on my desktop,
constantly becomes invalid. It keeps telling me that the
shortcut refers to a missing or invalid location on my
hardrive, yet I make the shortcut from the My Computer-

DVD drive icon.

I have attempted to reinstall the shortcut, yet to no
avail.
I would appreciate anyone's help.
