I am trying to scan a photo and use it as my desktop
background. I have been able to do it, but I can't re-
size it other than (tile, center, original). Is there a
way to resize the photo so it fits the way I want on my
desktop?

Thanks,

How are you doing it? The normal three options in the normal place is Centre, Tile, and Stretch. If using stretch it must be in the ratio of 4 units wide to 3 units high (1024X768, 800x600) on most computers (modern computers can actually do other but everything is designed for, and standard settings are 4x3).

You can set this at Start - Control Panel - Display - Desktop, browse to your picture and then choose Stretch from the drop down box on the left. Use Paint to re-dimension by cropping if needed.

Stretch is only available with the Desktop Update, so programs that don't assume Windows 98/Windows 2000 or later usually omit the option as it's not available in Win95 or NT4 unless installed.
