Desktop Background Disabled

syshredder appeared on my computer saying that my computer was compromised.
after getting rid of spyshredder my desktop background is now black, when I
try to change this it says desktop background disabled.
how can i enable it again?
suggestions gratefully recieved

You didn't say how you got rid of Spyshredder, but here are the

Hi-I had the same problem and I used spysweeper to get rid of
spyshredder/spyhunter but my desktop is still black. When I try to change it
in control panel it tells me this feature has been disabled and to check w/my
administrator which I am. Will going to bleeping computer give me back my
administrative rights to my desktop background?

This same problem is happening to my computer i've already deleted
spyshredder but the screen is still black and the desktop is still disabled.
any ideas? help?

Bleeping Computer Will help you out honestly I wasn't even sure if I wanted
to take the risk to mess with my computer but its a great site and helps you
out a lot

I've used the XoftSpySE and RegCure software successfully, but still do not
have rights to change the desktop background. Hints?

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

If that does not work, try doing a System Restore

i have a similar problem... my administrator recently logged in on my
computer via remote connection to fix another problem. when he signed off and
i restarted, my desktop was black. it absolutely does not allow me to change
my desktop back, or to any other wallpaper. help!?
