Deskjet 9650 how compatible is it with OSX

Hi everybody

My friend got herself an HP Deskjet 9650 but she can't make it appear in
the printer list of her graphic apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
Could that be caused by OSX ? (she use 10.3.8)

Just got answered by HP sales service : the problem is caused by the
fact that this particular model doesn't manage postscript. (but the
upper model do...)
