DeskJet 840C not printing yellow

I have done all the HP.com stuff, tried two different cartridges,
reinstalled the latest drivers and tweaked the software. What else
can I check or do to make my HP DeskJet 840C print yellow? The other
two primary colors are fine. Thanks.

Buy a new cartridge. If you are sure that the other cartridges are not empty
you could try blotting the print head on a wad of warm damp paper towels.

They were both brand new cartridges.

Check the "install by" date on the cartridges. I would expect that the
cartridges are out of date, as storing cartridges for long periods of time may
cause this problem. Check the warranty date as shown at the following:
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printers/support_doc/bpa02014.html If the
cartridges are still under warranty return them to your dealer or HP for a
replacement. If the cartridges are beyond the two year warranty get a new
cartridge. When purchasing new cartridges I would look for an "install by"
date at least six months in the future.
