I have a 1220c on windows xp64. hp says the drivers built into windows
are supposed to work, however, when i try to print, it just spits out
paper. anyone have a solution?

Yes, go to HP's web site and download their driver. I have the
exact same printer you do and an AMD Athalon 3700. The Windoze
driver works, it just prints lousy. HP has an XP-compatible one
which works excellently.
