Desk top icon menu??

Smokin'BBQ

I am in search of a "menu" type proggie,
that will clear my desktop icons, into a menu type program.
Anyone know of such a proggie??
much appreciated to all those who work so hard here...

I for one enjoy this group much....
(i am running windows XP)

Sounds like "deskmenu" from M$es own "power toys", don't know if
it works with XP.

An interesting one is BlackBox ( www.bb4win.org ). It's really more of a
shell manager, but it will clear your desktop.

If XP works like Win98 then all you need do is make a new tool bar...

1. Make a folder. Where isn't important but someplace other than the
desktop since you want to clear it off.

2. Put all your desk top shortcuts into the new folder. If you wish, you
can catagorize them by making sub-folders under #1 and putting the shortcuts
in the appropriate folder.

3. Right click on the taskbar > Toolbars > New Toolbar...

4. Browse to your folder and select it.

5. Right click on your new tool bar, select "Show Title". (the title
displayed will be whatever you named the folder in #1).

6. Drag the toolbar closed (if it isn't already)

When you click on the new toolbar a list of all the shortcuts will pop up.

i'd give you the home page address instead of the mirror link above,
but it seems to be gone. i think apple was pissed that he was offering
this program which very much mimics the mac toolbar...
