I have windows XP Home, just started last week after latest windows updates.
On my desk top upper left corner I now get a blink of a eye very fast
flashing window that says ' PLEASE WAIT COMPACTING DATA BASE " with a loading
bar thats stuck at 1/3 loaded. This box moves down from upper left corner
down towards lower right corner only 3 spaces and then recycles over and
over. I restored my computer to a before this months updates & the box went
away, when on shut down once again windows updates were installed its NOW
BACK AGAIN. Anyone else having this problem ? THANKS

Hi,
Do you have Microsoft Access Database Application and what your last
updates, was it MS Office updates or general security updates?
Did you ever configured Access to Compact your Data on start up to be ready
for usage?
Did you run a scan for malware and viruses on this machine?
Run disk clean up then this command:
sfc /scannow

HTH,
nass
