We are late to the party but are currently planning to deploy Service Pack 3
for Windows XP (currently all are SP2) via SMS 2003 in the coming months as
it SP2 will be going EOL in July.

I was hoping that those of you who have already done this might be able to
share some tips or if you ran into any issues when doing so? Were there any
major gotcha problems that arose during the implementation via SMS? I know
one thing to watch for is that the clients have adequate free disk space
(planning 1GB minimum free). Aside from this are there any points to watch
out for? Also, did you encounter any major compatibility issues afterwards
(we will be doing testing ahead of full deployment of course!). Thanks.

You have SMS - do you have WSUS?

Yes, we are currently using WSUS for "critical updates" and "security
updates" not service packs at this time. Would you recommend to use WSUS for
this over SMS 2003? Thanks.
