Hi:

I have developed a ppt. presentation on ultrasound physics
which contains over 700 slides that are narrated, animated
and contain numerous ultrasound images. The entire
presentation is over 6 hours long and over 500MEGS. I want
to be able to sell this prouct as a CD which will allow
users to 1) use it whether they have ppt. 2002 or not and
2) be able to advance, stop or return to previous slides
which pack and go will not allow them to do. Any thoughts?

Terry,

My initial reaction when reading your post was that this needs to be broken
down into manageable chunks.

1) You definately need to get the autorun cd software from
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/acdpc_instructions.htm
This will package your presentation up ready for the CD. It will also make
the CD autorun. It will run the "powerpoint viewer" from the CD without
installing anything on the host PC.

The bad news is the powerpoint viewer from microsoft only supports
powerpoint 97 features.
The good news it a new viewer that supports ppt 2002/XP features should be
out (no guarantee) around Oct 2003.

See http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00436.htm

2) This can be done with action buttons
Each assigned to do a different task
e.g. last slide
next slide
jump to menu
jump to a particular section.

An tutorial and example powerpoint file of this can be seen at
http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com/powerpointmenu.htm

If it was me I'd split the pres into sections and 'link' to each section
from a main menu.
