Hi
what is the best way to deploy os patches and security
updates. We have a Novell network, and about 500
workstations. Mostly I use Zenworks, but this doesn't
always work because of the mix of Pc's in our
organization.
any ideas?
thanks, Susie

Sorry, but I cannot agree. I worked with ZENworks and it's
among the systems doing this job well. ZENworks supports
software distribution for client OS XP/2000 better than
MSIs through GPOs because there is no easy way in AD to
tell between client OS. ZENworks does.
GPOs supporting only native Win 2000/XP/2003 clients and
ZENworks clients are available for XP/Win2000/Win NT,
Win9x.

Perhaps a SUS server?

And I have to agree with Walter. I find ZW a better product for
software and patches than AD and GPOs.

What issues have you had with ZW?

ZenWorks should be the way to go, regardless of the mix of
operating systems. Are you using the latest Novell Client32 on each
workstation?
