Deploying Images

I'm trying to figure out a way for us to deploy our image
to production systems. I wanted to boot production
systems from a floppy, map a network drive and copy the
image from a networked drive, but long filenames do not
come through in DOS mode. I'd rather not have to attach
the target drive as a slave to my development system and
copy over the image. Any one have any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim,

Use google to search this NG for this subject.

Also there is post on this subject only two days old.

Tim,

I use Remote Recover to transfer the image just like you describe. Remote
Recover is from Winternals (www.winternals.com). You will have to talk to
them directly to purchase Remote Recover standalone.

Hi Tim,

You can use WinISO to edit the ISO of the XPE bootable CD, add a
script to the startnet.bat that would connect to the server containing
the XPE files, and then use XCOPY to copy the XPE files from the
server to the target machine. I used this when I created a recovery
CD that is capable of connecting to a network computer.
