Hi !

I would like to deploy a mdb database (without forms, reports,...) to
a target computer; so that it can be seen as an ODBC data source.

1) What version and license of Access do I need to buy ?

2) Is that possible to avoid to install the access runtime and only
have a .exe that acts as an ODBC database server ?

Thanx

You can place the file anywhere you have access to it through the network.
You can then create an ODBC connection to it using the Data Sources or
Administrative Tools|Data Sources applet in Control Panel. However, if the
computers that are going to be attaching to it are running Access, you don't
need to use ODBC, you can just link to the tables in the remote file.

No, no license is needed to simply place an mdb file on a computer for
sharing.
