Hi!
I have a problem with SP4 deployment, if i try to deploy
SP4 using a computer GPO the client starts installing the
SP, but after aprox 30 secs the login screen appears.
In the eventwiever on the client it says that the SP4 is
installed correctly??
If i run winver it says that SP3 is installed?

I have checked diskspace on the clients and thats enough,
rights on the clients are also right.
I have updated the windowsinstaller on both servers and
clients to 2.0.
The rights on the GPO is also ok, the specified clients is
not installed with RIS. If i install a testclient with ris
and then moves the client to the OU where the SP4 GPO
resides the SP4 is installed correctly??

Thanks in advance

Uffe

You may want to read the following article (and follow the link included
inside) to make sure that you are deploying SP4 correctly.

278503 Best Practices for Using Update.msi to deploy Service Packs

If this article does not help, could you please provide more information on
how you have your GPO setup in order to deploy SP4?

Thanks Bill

I deleted the GPO and made a new Gpo with the existing
update.msi, i also changed the rights on the policy to
be "domain group and "domain computers".
I checked the svcpack.log file and saw that the client
failed to read the update.inf file before i made the
changes to the policy.
