Hi,

We need to deploy IE 6 through our Windows 2k3 domain. What is the best way
to roll out the IE across domain? Please advise. Some workstations might
have older versions of IE

Thanks a lot.

Look for the IEAK on the MS website. Pick the "Corporate License" version.

Create a CD / Flat package and download that from a shared folder on the
network (I am sure it will run just by selecting run when linked to
actually) and you will have identical versions you can lock down - of course
it includes OE limits as well.

You will need to give the security options some thought and I found you need
to remove old versions of the package you create before running it again so
allow some time to practice.

Thanks a lot, Charlie.

Is there way to do this through Group Policy, or that is a bad idea? Can
you tell me the difference if using Group Policy is a valid method? Thank
you so much.

Sorry for the delay,

I suggest you try the server groups for that, you will get answers from
folks who do this kind of thing all the time and thus be told about problems
in advance most likely.

If not you can simply share the destination folder the IEAK puts it in and
run the "Flat" copy from there.
