Hello,

I want to deny the access to the NFS Network shares, but only for the
guest account. The guest still hast to be able to use the internet,
but the gateway is not the NFS server, so if i could block an
IP-address for a certain group of users, it would be enough.

Hello Roger Braun,

I think it is very simple. you just check sharing
permissions for those shares and dont give access to guset
account. i think this will solve your problem.

this is upto my understanding of the problem. if there is
any thing ciritical in this please let me know i will try
to solve the issue.

Wiht best Wishes.
Vamsi.

It'S not that easy I'm afraid. We connect to these NFS shares that are
on a SUN-Server by using services for unix 3.5, but the access to the
shares is granted by ip, not by username... i dont't think i can set
any restrictions the usual way.

Thanks,

Roger Braun

That is difficult and as far as I know can not be done within the operating system.
There are personal firewalls that have different configurations based on the user
logged on that may help in your case. PortsLock does that I believe. --- Steve

use ipsec police

Ipsec policies are computer configuration - not user configuration. --- Steve
