denied Access to some folders

I had to do a system recovery and since that date there
are certain folders that read "ACCESS DENIED" when I try
to open them. They contain documents and pictures saved
to my PC and I need some of them. Is there and answer to
this problem? I have tried changing information on rhe
passport but that does nothing. Help...gramma here so use
the kiss nethod for explanation. Thank you
