demote and promote DC to rebuild AD ?

I need to rebuild active directory.

How do I demote my DC and then promote it again ?

DCPROMO will demote then promote a server to a DC.

Is this the only DC on your network?
If so you would lose all the data in AD

Its the only DC. Been having lots of headaches installing exchange 2000.
Need to wipe AD and start again i think.

Exchange gets stuck at the "Configuring entry for Microsoft Windows 2000
Active Directory schema update" stage. This happens even on a fresh 2000
memeber server. Must be AD thats the problem.
