I have recently set-up remote desktop in my LAN. Now I
want to connect to my computer which is at my apartment
from school. I realize that port 3389 needs to be open
on my desktop and be able to send on port 3389 on my
laptop. Now I have a firewall on my desktop(hardware)
and another firewall on my OS(ZoneAlarm). I was
wondering about the Demilitarized zone on my hardware
firewall. Do I need to put my NAT IP address so that it
is in the Demilitarized zone?

Thanks for any help

Eric

Eric, you do not need to put the laptop in the DMZ, you could but you don't
need to. If you do you effectively eliminate any security you are
currently getting from it. You should be able to simply have it forward port
3389 to the laptop's NAT IP address. How to do that depends on your router.
You will also need to configure ZoneAlarm on the laptop to allow traffic on
3389. I am not that familiar with Zone Alarm so I can tell you how to do
that.
