Ken Lamb said:Greetings,
I am new here and I searched the newsgroup server and found this, which
seems to be the appropriate group to ask this question.
I type in http://www.google.com in the address bar.
It comes up" this page cannot be displayed".
I go under file and properties and here is what it reads:
General
Cannot find server
Protocol: Unknown Protocol
Type: Not Available
Connection: Not Encrypted
Address: res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnse
(URL) rror.htm#http://www.google.com/
Size: Not Available
Created: Not Available
Modified: Not Available
It does not matter what website I go to if it uses google as its search
engine I get the same display.
MSN search engine works fine.
I can access the rest of the web fine.
I am running W98SE IE Version 6.0.2800.1106IS
Any ideas?
TIA.

After some research on another newsgroup someone suggested maybe I had the
delude virus.
I went to Microsoft site for the patch and this what happened:
I went to the Microsoft site and downloaded the patch.
After it downloaded and tried to run, an error message:
The WINDOWSSERVER2003-KB822925-X86-ENU[1].EXE file is linked to missing
export NTDLL.DLL:NtOpenProcessToken
Also:
The white "x" in the red circle message
"Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Ken
