Unfortunately yes you do. My experience with MM has been dismal. An update to
MM 10 caused my old computer to crash and was not bootable even in safe mode.
After a complete reformat and reinstall - same thing after error messages. No
help from MM. I tried 3 times to get it to work after reformats. They twice
sent me a form letter on how to uninstall and reinstall. No help whatsoever
on the error messages etc. I had paid for the full version AND another 39.95
for all future updates. Even now I am scared to even try to install it on my
new computer. Absoluely NO help from them.

After posting my earlier response I found MM's *purchase* terms on their web
site [which I copied and pasted below for Cindy]. I love MM, but I would
think they're going to lose some *paying* customers, considering the shape
of their *support*. I've always used the free version, since my Gateway
"Plus" subscription expired. I knew after that, there was NO support.
What is the status of your program now? For $60 you definitely should get
what you paid for! What are the spec's for your new computer? [Memory, etc.,
and additional software.]
I'm sure there are people here, who will be willing to try to help you,
install it and get it to work... if you still want to.

Do I have to pay to update from a previous version of Musicmatch Jukebox
If you have purchased All Future Versions, you never have to buy Musicmatch
Jukebox Plus again. Please use the following URL to download the latest version:

If you have NOT purchased "All Future Versions" (previously known as

that may be released.

Musicmatch Jukebox Plus, and is not available as a separate purchase. To
purchase a new key for and to learn about all the new features and

1. I have a lifetime key for Musicmatch Jukebox, but I can’t upgrade to the
next version. Why?
If you are attempting to update to the latest version of Musicmatch Jukebox
Plus and are receiving a message that your key is not valid for the latest
version, it is likely that you did not purchase All Future Versions
(formerly known as Lifetime Upgrades) when you purchased your Musicmatch
Jukebox Plus key.
If you feel that you did in fact purchase All Future Versions, then it is
possible that you are not using the correct key. You can use the Retrieve
Lost Key function in Musicmatch Jukebox to obtain your purchased key.
To retrieve your registration key, please do the following:
- Open Musicmatch Jukebox.
- Click the "Help" menu.
- Click the "Registration" menu option.
- Select the "Retrieve Lost Key" menu option.
This will launch your web browser to a form requiring the following information:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- Your postal code.
- The last four digits of your credit card.
*This information must match the information given at the time of purchase.
When your purchase record is confirmed your key will be emailed to you
immediately. When your receive your key follow these easy steps to enter it
and enable the features you purchased:
