I recently had a paper jam and removed it - then when i tried to
connect it to my computer - it would not recognize the printer.

I have tried this on several other computers and same problem.

Tried reinstalling software and changing USB cables all which it still
does not get recognized.

Everything else works fine - faxes, copying, scanning to copy, etc. -
but cannot get any computer to recognize this printer.

Should I junk it or is there any simple fix I am missing?

I have tried researching the web and cannot find an answer.

Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

John

Some clarity is in order.

Are you stating that this AIO worked when interfaced with the computer
prior to the paper jam and no longer is acknowledged by the computer since?

Are you sure the paper jam didn't either leave something still
interfering with the printer, or maybe in clearing the jam you damaged
or mispositioned a sensor?

No error messages?

Before reinstalling the software/driver, did you remove the driver
software, then reinstall, and then plug the printer into the computer.
Many USB interfaced printers and other peripherals need the driver
installed before connecting the peripheral.

If all the functions work when it is disconnected from the computer and
running independently, their is likely nothing wrong with the printer
and internal firmware, however, the USB plug may have been damaged or
disconnected from the mainboard (solder break). Those USB connectors
are pretty fragile and a little too much wiggling can crack a connection
to the main board from the connector.
