"It is probably fair to say that in the mainstream laptop market the majority of consumers look at 15 inch models as their ideal form factor. Walk into any large store and there will be rows and rows of low cost models with this screen size, with a smaller section for devices with 13" and 17" screens... many of which will cost much more than the 15" models. Recently though we have seen an increase in the 14" market with machines such as Alienware's M14x impressing us while offering a little more portability that the 15" alternative.
Clearly Dell were pleased with the reception of the 14" Alienware though as their latest laptop in the Inspiron range shares the same screen size. The Inspiron 14z as it is known features a second gen Core i5 CPU and some good on paper specifications. Today we have one on our test bench to find out what this model has to offer for those who don't need a 15"+ system."
