Hello everybody,
After only 14 months my Dell Dimension (MB I think) has increduously failed.
Given that this is the first non self-snapped together PC I owned I have
decided to salvage what's left in the Dell (RAM, Vid card, SATA HDs, PS, DVD)
and put together a new PC. The new PC will have new Intel MB (765G chipsset,
a Multimedia MB), a new Intel Core Dual CPU, and a new case.
My questions are:
a) Will Vista (Ultimate x64) be able to boot after having the MB and the CPU
swapped out from under it? (The MB change is incremental one from Intel and
not a radical departure from the old Dell MB, the old CPU is a Pentium 4 3.0
GHz dual core, and not a 1.86 Ghz Conroe Core Dual though I understand the
Core Dual is supposed to be faster?)
b) I guess this means I will haved to activate again after less than a week
and probably by phone! Is this true?
Thanks for your help.
