I cannot restart my Dell dimension desktop, the only apparent indication of a fault is the fact that the power botton on the front of the machine is flashing yellow.
This happened once before and the computer eventually started after pushing the on\off button repeatedly. Once it restarts the computer runs normally.
Any help or advice would be appreciated

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

Can you please give us your system specs so that we can look into this further for you.

Does the yellow light flash all the time are you sure its not on standby mode when the yellow lights flashing??

Is that the actual switch that's flashing yellow or a seperate led?

How old is the machine?

It definitely seems like a hardware fault but hard to pinpoint an actual cause tbh.

In normal operation the power light is illuminated green, at present it is continually flashing yellow.
I assume it is something to do with the power supply as it happened once before when after repeatedly pushing the button it booted up normally.

My name is Brad and I work at Dell headquarters in Round Rock, TX. crock41 what is the model of the Dell Dimension system? Without knowing the model it could be a few things. Usually this is a problem with the power supply and it will need to be replaced. If replacing the power supply does not resolve the problem then the motherboard will need to be replaced. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
