I still dont get it. But they must know what they are doing.


Remove competition while adding name-brand recognition to a
market segment you want to expand in. I don't think Dell
understands high-end system fanatics though, will end up
making proprietary, yet Dell-generic, static system lines
that are still not as desirable for a gaming enthusiast as
DIY build would be, in addition to still being more
expensive for a higher end configuration.

This is not good at all. Kony is correct with two words high-end.

I think Dell looks at it as a way of getting around their agreement to use
only Intel cpu's in their system,a real drawback in the high end gamer
market where AMD is the leader.Given the low ratings both companies have in
customer support,and the outrageous prices they charge for high end systems
with any real muscle,I wouldn't buy from either of them.
