I am having a weird problem tring to install the drivers for my Dell 3010cn
printer.

After installing the Dell CD, autorun displays the welcome screen with
serveral install options (local, network,). No matter which I select, the
welcome screen just disappears for a second or two, then re-displays again -
having done nothing at all.

Has anyone else has problems installing Dell drivers?

Hey Paul,
I am having a different problem with a Dell 3110cn Color Network Laser
printer install, but the outcome is similar. I can install just the driver,
which came out yesterday, and print from picture viewer, or a website, but
not Office 2007. In fact, if I make the Dell the default printer, Office
applications fail shortly after opening. It is a real pain. I just signed
up to be a Beta tester for Dell and am waiting to hear back. Dell seems to
be behind the curve a wee bit on their printer drivers and software. Good
Luck.

Cyn..
I don't need luck. I have dumped Vista and gone back to XP. There were just
too many programs and drivers that would not run on Vista for me.

I will try it again in about a year when, hopefully, the dust settles and
everyone has code that is compatible with Vista

Do ya suppose when they said it wasn't ready for a production enviornment,
they had it right? Ya think? LOL But do we listen?? nooooo... we think
we can make anything run on Microsoft! :-)

hehe.. I heard thru the grapevine, that MS is shaking in its boots about the
release. Seems I am not the only one concerned that many of the 3rd party
developers have not got on board yet!

A firend of mine who has his own business, said they had installed it on all
their machines, and have just pulled it off and gone back to XP. Not because
of the OS itself, but because of compatibility problems with other software
and drivers.

If, you tell the setup program to use "administrator" for setup I got it to
work flawlessly on the RTM
build 6000 version.

Now if I could just get my DocuMate 510 to function...

Ken.. I was using administrator.

However, it is a moot point now, as I have previously mentioned here that I
have gone back to XP, and will stay with it for at least another year.

But thanks for the reply
