Not sure if this is in the right forum. Server, Exch. 5.5 SP4, clients are
Outlook 2000 on XP or W98

Have a few clients that do not receive mail until there is some kind of
activity in outlook 2000. Opening a message or clicking on a folder will
result in messages being delivered/sent.

Any thoughts are welcomed.

Under Exchange Server 5.5, this issue is commonly due to UDP connectivity
problems. New email notifications are pushed fro the Exchange Server via
UDP; should a problem arise with UDP connectivity, Outlook will behave is
exactly the fashion you describe, new email won't appear you change folders.
If the problem is specific to the Windows XP machines, check the firewall
settings to make sure UDP traffic is being passed.
