Hi,

I have a problem with these entries appearing in the event log of our TS
server, and general weird IE behaviour which started last night. I also get
an error of this sort for messenger.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Internet Explorer
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000

Though no one seems to have a solution to this, I have been told to delete
all temp internet folders and recreate them.

As soon as the server loads the temp internet folders are in use. How can i
remove these folders on a remote server ?? Or does anyone have a solution to
this issue ?

Olly

That message looks like a generic message that is
generated when IE crashes.

If you want to remove those temporary internet files, go
to your control panel. Double click on internet options,
and the first page that comes up should give you the
option to "delete files". Click on that button.

Alternatively, on the advanced tab of internet options,
scroll down a little bit until you find the option for
deleting the temporary internet cache when the browser is
closed. Put a check mark on this option. This will
delete the temporary internet files when the browser is
closed.

Great in theory, but IE crashes 100% of the time, so removing on closing
isnt applicable, and the majority of users are getting errors when using the
Internet applet of the control panel.

As i said, is there a way that i can delete the temporary internet files
folders of the all the users? specifically can this be done manually ?

Olly

You can do this manually by going to their Temporary
Internet Files folder and deleting the entire thing.
It'll be recreated when the user restarts IE. I would
search your hard drive for the folder, since its location
could be anywhere (although typically in the documents and
settings area).

tried that, but the files inside are in use from the moment the server has
loaded windows, so i cant delte them. The only way is to delete the files in
the folders one at a time so that i can NOT delte the ones that are in use.
Lots of users, lots of files, not enough time.
