It's a long story, but I have alot of unnecessary printer icons showing on my
remote pcs (of a home network). When I go to delete them, they disappear and
then a few seconds later reappear again. Must be an easy way to delete these
surely? I thought it may be because they were set up for sharing, so changed
the settings to private and still can't delete them. Any ideas?

If they have AUTO in the name that's the explorer.exe process searching for
file shares and print shares in your WORKGROUP configured setting.

Disable this feature in any desktop window , Tools, Folder Options, View,
Automatically search for network folders and printers. Uncheck the box and
delete the printers.

hello Alan

Yes, the are Auto files. I unchecked box as you advised but still have the
same problem, ie they just re-appear again after being deleted?! I rebooted
and unchecked on each pc to be sure, and still no joy...
