I accidently put part of some text in my photo and can
not delete it. Could not find the answer in "help".
How do I delete the text remmants?
When I click on "insert text" it installs a text box the
same size as the picture. Then clicking "delete" erases
the complete picture.

I assume that you did this using MS Paint. If so, forget it. It is not
removable with MS Paint.
I don't know how many times it has been posted here to NEVER edit the
original photo file. You always edit a copy of the file, never the original.
This being said, how to you recover from this. If the photo is important to
you, you can purchase something like Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9 software.
You open this photo with this software and you then have access to different
editing procedures under Touchup, using the clone brush to remove it. Easy
to do if the text is on something like a blue sky or a white wall, a little
more difficult if over a complex color object.
