Deleting Saved Entries for Seach Engines

Not sure what this setting is called but I don't like having recent entries saved whenever I imput something into a search engine. For example, when I go to type in "apple" in AOL's search engine, a listing of all previous searches i.e. "apples, apple pie" stays saved in the seach engine. HOW DO I DELETE THIS SETTING???
