Some time ago I was able to delete old restore points which seemed to take up unecessary space.

I used an option from the Help and Support but I now cannot find the route I used!!

Anybody Advise?

I don't know of any way to selectively delete old restore points (but will
watch this thread to see if anyone mentions a way). However, you can delete
all restore points -- and, in effect, "start over" -- by turning System
Restore off and then back on. To do that, go to Start > Control Panel >
System, select the tab for System Restore and place a check mark in the box
for "turn off System Restore for all drives." You will get a warning
message which you will accept. I don't remember if you need to reboot, but
I always do as a general rule of thumb. After rebooting, remember to follow
these same steps and remove the check mark from "turn off System Restore" so
that more restore points can be created.

Hi

You delete all but the most recent checkpoint:

Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup - select the relevant drive>OK and then the 'More Options' tab - bottom pane.

My XPro does not have any 'More Options' tab... How to enable it?

Mine also does not have the "More Options" tab (using XP-Home Edition).
However, the method I described in my previous post does the same thing
except that *all* restore points will be deleted. A new restore point will
be created as soon as System Restore is turned back on, so it works almost
the same way.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

The 'More Options' includes a button to delete all but the most recent
restore point

Or if you go to Control Panel - System - System Restore, highlight the
drive and click Settings, you can reduce the space allowed - any points
that will no longer fit will be dropped , oldest first
Minimum space 200MB, around 400 or 500 is realistic
